A contemporary residence situated atop a hill in a historical section of town, Hillside was artfully designed to fulfill the clients’ wishes for a modern home while acknowledging and honoring the vintage houses surrounding it. SRA worked with the town board to satisfy their requirements while creating a structure with a subtle, yet stunning presence. Wood clapboard on the exterior is a nod to the historical provenance of the neighborhood; however, it is mounted vertically for a more contemporary look. The interiors have a very modern aesthetic with streamlined, linear furnishings and fixtures, which unite to create, essentially, a white envelope of space accented with pops of color and metallic finishes to accentuate the home highlights.
